Your sari has a story now, with different chapters. I love to think of passed-along items this way. When I give an outfit/piece of kitchen equipment/furniture/etc to someone I always encourage the receiver to also pass it along to another at some point. In my mind I like to imagine that that piece will eventually write such an interesting book! So sci-fi, I know, but a pleasurable fantasy anyways.
