You have covered every category Is Misé . What a mess, huh.

Michelle Kelly I have include you on these responses as well

I know of several situations where women have suffered from sexual abuse or career/ life limiting gender discrimination. Yet they Pshaw what happened in their own case and show no sympathy( mostly they show extreme doubt) when other women tell of their own personal abusive experiences.

The passage above from your reply explained the “why”to me. These women won’t acknowledge what happens to others because they cannot deal with admitting and examining their own tragedy.

I also think that in a few of the cases I know about: the women involved really believe that they have been accepted (admitted) into the old boys club. So they think if they admit that they personally( or any woman) suffered any type of sexual/ gender/ life/ career abuse; this would automatically make them “less than” the boys in the club and possibly get them kicked out.

Here’s the thing. They aren’t equal members in that club anyways. I will argue that they are not “ in” in the first place.

Great chatting with you. Wish the topic was a happier one. Well, there is a happy note. More and more of us are talking about the need to fix this: women AND men. Action is happening and will continue. If we look very very intently, there is some light showing through at the tunnel’s end. Not bright light. Yet. But it will be.
