You are so right. However, we really have no choice because of the regression and hopelessness this “mess” enables. To 51% of the population.

This is what I believe.
We need to find ways in our personal circles to increase the dialogue. With purpose like never before.

We need to reach out to others on social media. Share podcasts and articles etc supporting our quest. As creatively and as proactively as possible.

We writers need to write about it, seek out, read and write comments on others’ articles, engage(like we are doing now). We need to expose gaslighting on all levels.

We can start informal online discussion groups through FB, Slack, others. We need to foster the embrace of science, critical thinking, education, inclusion, respect and diversity.

We need to lobby and protest and attend meetings school board, town halls, all of ‘em.

We need to do like you are now, asking for specific ideas and opinions.

Absolutely, every election municipal, state, federal, we need to vote and get others out to vote. We need to educate on the futility (at this point) of voting independent or abstaining.

If we doubt the ability of the current party in power to get our backs in the way that we need, we keep them in power as the lessor of 2 evils and get involved in the grassroots background to work to bettering the future of the party and the system. As slow as that will be.

It is a one small step at a time but if more and more of us do that, gradually we make a difference.
