When Writing is Your Jam
What to do when all these world-shattering events make your brain scream for a little break?
You are a creative and love spinning stories, poetry, essays, and what have you. Writing is your jam. The trouble is, world events are driving you bonkers. You find yourself in a prolonged writing and reading slump.
“What should I do?” you ask in a newly grooved, whiney voice.
I’ll tell you what. Eat jam. Go full-on, jam. Make some. Buy some.
A new distraction might be just what the doctor ordered as long as it doesn’t become an obsession, lol.
Result? It’s a shot of rejuvenation.
Who knew the power of a bit of PB&J?
Try a substantial dollop of jam on a freshly toasted cheddar scone. Make thumbprint cookies with a dab of a berry you-know-what in the middle. Serve your hon-bun some on a spoon and lick it off his/her/their lips. Use jam as finger paint on a bare back or tummy ( with or without whipped cream).
Yikes. It is time to stop because the above list could go anywhere, and it is never-ending.
Join me. I’m not a jam maker but a seeker and purchaser of the good stuff.
Here’s a jolly, jammy piece I read earlier. It’s all about “the French girl of the supermarket.” Bonne Maman( no affiliate).
Enjoy. Then maybe start typing?
