One of my mother’s friends went to a catholic girls school in a small town. The students were not allowed to wear patent leather shoes because the nuns insisted , if boys were around, they would see the girl’s underpants in the reflection on the top of the shoe…
Yikes. Do not think that would be a “rule” today
