“To let go of a version of yourself, to admit that the things you thought would make you happy – things you’ve worked very hard to get – won’t actually do the trick is not only sad, it’s terrifying. It means confronting the possibility that you might have to start all over again.”

Wow. What a paragraph. I love your writing and your mind. I wish we were sitting with a bunch of other women right now in a cozy kitchen. Wine glasses in hand. Incredible aromas spilling from the oven. And talking and talking about what you wrote in this wonderful, insightful and heartfelt article.

Kids or no kids. Of course a decision to be made or reached based on each person’s unique circumstance. Not a right or wrong. Yet as you say…there is so much more to this than that.

I eventually chose ( key word is eventually) no kid. My journey to get there coulda used an article, a contemplation like yours.

Let me go back to your amazing paragraph above, though. Sad, yes. Terrifying, yup. Starting over again, oh gawd. Or…are these words from the “ half empty glass” ( to be fair, a view programmed deep in our brains). Or…are those same words the catalyst to the exhilaration and omnipotence of a new path, a new perspective and opportunity, an embrace of a life that never ever stops growing, changing and being. Well…until your are 125 at least😀👍

I am big on the glass half full side of the coin. I am terrifyingly excited for my next chapter. And the next ones after that. As I sense you are as well for yours.

Can’t wait to read more of you.
