This is exactly what writers on Medium need to hear, Yana.
I have been writing on Medium for four years and my earnings maybe…maybe every three or four months COMBINED will buy me a couple of pizzas.
This month I received my first boost and it was a wonderful feeling for the writer in me.
The former banker in me? Well, with 10 days left in the month, I can take my sweetie out for a special dinner, and that’s about it.
Don’t get me wrong, the boosts( three of them actually) were a lovely experience and I am grateful for them.
Because I love writing, I will not stop because those boost didn’t produce thousands.
In fact the criteria to get a boost clearly matches what good writing looks like, so I feel motivated to hone my writing skills even more, but to feel better about my art.
My full time work as a home business launching consultant is what I do for a living.
Would I like writing to pay? Of course and it should because of the talent and time that goes into it. Like any job, it should.
I find for many of us we need at least 2 jobs, writing AND something else that belongs to us and also makes our heart sing.
