This essay is so depressing and yet totally real. Too many people don’t want to hear your words, Jessica, because, bottom line, your words DO interfere with “ brunch” plans. They will say anything so they can do whatever it takes to show off “ their latest golf club purchase”. Including calling you a “ fear monger”.

The truth is that you are brave enough to write what needs saying.

The solution though, is to still vote for the lesser of two evils. Someone in the comments suggested switching from blue to red, just because the right is so messed up that they will quickly destroy the world and get the total collapse over with.

Um, no. Not quickly and it will be painful and horrible.

If you think things are bad now just wait till the Trump crowd move back in the WH.

Plus saying you won’t vote or you will switch your vote is exactly what the right is hoping( and plotting) you will do. Already way too many people have fallen for this.

I read today that the Republicans say they are making huge inroads into proving they are the “ party of the people” the political party of the everyday working American. The fact that many people believe that is beyond.

Then again look at what Putin uses for justification for invading Ukraine. He uses any words he can turn into “buzzwords” knowing that a huge chunk of the population think both wearing masks and critical thinking is “too hard”. These guys know how to play people

So…everyone has to vote and vote for the second worst( blue) and not the worst (red). Then on a grassroots level do any and everything you can…everyone do this…to start to make some fixes in this mess. Small stuff, medium stuff, big efforts. Doesn’t matter, it will all help.

It does however, begin with voting. And not voting to support autocracy. Take a minute and contemplate Putin. Not pretty.
