I dunno about these competitions on Vocal though. No results on that one you read yet but on the earlier poetry one, I didn’t even make one of the 50 runners up. Wah. Wah. Wah.

The thing is the two poems I submitted for that previous contest(closed and winners announced now)were two of my best ever on Medium( the recent one about Doll Factories and an earlier one : Squished like a Bug)

TBH. I thought I had a chance at Runner Up at least. Those 2 were decent, I thought. Funny thing, I submitted another one to that competition: Road to Anywhere and on purpose I made it lame. Just to eff around. That one got the most reads. Go figure…

A friend of mine said she would find these contests demoralizing…I might..might be starting to understand what she meant.

Thanks for allowing me another rant here! I just start and sometimes cannot stop. And in this case, embarrassed to say, feeling sorry for myself and licking wounds.
