Then you wrote: I made sure to catch those thoughts and squish them like ants before they could grow.

Thank you Itxy for writing such an open and real piece. So much in life (and I am not referring exclusively to social media) is about pretend. What we feel pressured to say or how we choose to curate ourselves to match some impossible version of perfection.

You are getting lots of encouraging feedback because you are giving other writers courage to talk about their own fears. And not just writers. It doesn’t matter what any of us want to accomplish in life. That demon voice is saying: Naw, you’re not good enough.

Your ant analogy is perfect. We all need to imagine that colossal “nay saying creature” exploding to particles, teensy particles, scampering on the floor below us. Then with smiles on our faces we also pretend we are popping bubbles in bubble wrap. Next we stomp our combat boots all over those little bugs.

Squish. Pop. Pop. Squish.👍😀

If you like( and I will wait for your call on this) we can stay in touch on Medium. Soon I will start my own writing and will enjoy hearing your comments. I am looking forward to reading more of you.
