Thank you Rebecca for this very well written article. Ageism is another huge issue in our world and you have done a thorough job illustrating how it hampers Gen Y and Gen Z. I agree totally with your perspective.

A point about this line in your essay: “ As a culture, we still value our “elders”. We only value our older, white, straight, MALE elders. As women pass the age 35 mark they gradually become more and more invisible( irrelevant) and then by age 50 and beyond women are viewed as increasingly “ready for the pasture”. Such an insulting and wasteful double standard.
