Did you see the limited series: A very British Scandal? Based on a true story in the 50s and 60s. And pretty much, in too many circles, nothing ( for women) has really changed.

True both the male and female leads are, basically horrible people. But when you see at the end when one of her passionate love letters was exposed in court, the Judge spoke for three hours!, tearing her character apart because you know, “ normal women” respond only to whispered words of sweet nothings, never anything ( next word spoken awkwardly) “sexual”.

You were expecting him to sentence her to burn at the stake.

P.S. I was just telling my husband your comment about schools using the penis word but saying no-no to vagina. Aside from shaking our heads in wonder/ disgust/ disbelief/ etc we need some early morning giggles ( coffee not quite doing it’s job yet!).
