Philippa PB Hughes

Hello Philippa. I cannot tell you enough how much I enjoyed reading your article. Your insight, your open mind, your determination to act and contribute, your writing style: very impressive.

This concept of dinner/opinions/enlightenment is brilliant. Did you say that since you started this, a movement of like events has occurred?

Being a hobby chef and an event planner (events used as a bonding tool in my last industry and career), I totally appreciate the good and the future potential in what you have done. Too bad Covid restrictions are in the way currently, I would plan a similar dinner for next week! And more after that.

I think the last 4 years have (over, way over) done much to unleash greed, corruption and hate, not just in the US, but in many places of the world. Yes it was there before, but Trump and many of his enablers gave it permission to be in the open. Unapologetically. Normalized it.

Trump might be out of the White House but there is still SO much work to do to unite humans with a respect for each other’s differences and a unified willingness to find a way for better functionality.

I am so impressed with what you have done, Philippa.

What does one do today, when Covid means no strangers at the dinner table in one’s home? How do we copy what you have done? Zoom?…I find it hard to get excited about that as a substitute for those actual faces around my table. Just wait, I guess? Or…something I have not yet thought about?

Would love to hear your thoughts.
