P.G. This is really, really good. And let me say congrats for your insight, your journey and where you have landed.

I think what you describe, on one level or another, is so true for many people. Because of that, when someone writes about it, as you just did, it becomes valuable info for lots of folks.

Life is so short. In one’s 20’s and 30’s that point is usually buried. Then you hit 40 and yup, you start to get it. I think what you describe in one way, is part of life long learning. But better to begin that journey anytime after 40 hits rather than 50 years later! ( earlier is good too!!)

Only thing I disagree with, and this is for you James Knight and any/all others: The part above “an OLD Texas dude”. To me, I don’t think of you guys (and any gals)that way. A Texas dude, a Louisiana dude, a Florida dude, whatever…just cool dudes from anywhere writing good shit on Medium.

( and I am using “dude” as genderless and all encompassing)

The “old” word? Pshaw.
