Omg, girl. How did I miss this piece before? I was glued to the screen, my heart beating in overtime as I read your words.

My lovely friend …that you had to go through this…then how you survived and moved on. Amazing. Even though it is always there in some form. Traumas are like that. We are able to learn, grow and move on…better than we were before. Yet excepting all that, the infringement to our bodies and minds is core deep.

You are so right about the statistics…they are there for those brave enough to admit. Society has done such a sleaze job on women. First it has tolerated these abuses, then the woman is always doubted, then…for those incredible souls owning their terror and vocalizing about it in hope of helping others….then some in this world want to segregate these women. I read something where it said the statistics would be higher except for people believing that these atrocities only happen to “some women” read “those women” and “surely, not me”. Such crap and gaslighting designed to shut women up. ‘Oh I cannot say that happened to me,”they are taught. Bullshit.

Rebecca, I am obviously riled up right now. I am so sick of all this.

But dear friend, I am so glad you are and we’re ok. Soon I will write about the “family doctor” episode I mentioned to you earlier. I was fortunate, like you, that escape was possible. But…”fortunate” is not a good word when talking about this…
