Oh dear. This is awful and I am so sorry it happened to you. These sorts of things happen much more than are reported. None of them are ok.
My congrats for how you handled it, but I know that cannot ever be easy.

For entertainment reasons, I am watching a series chock-a-block with this kind of corporate underhanded strategy. I worry that series like this might “normalize” the behavior, somehow. Or on a better note, draw more attention to it, to make it public and down voted.
