My friend, you continue to astound me. I read your lines, not only here, but always, and I go away with a new thought to ponder.
Well done, JD, well done.( highest praise to a writer, but to a carnivore at a steak house, not so much!…couldn’t resist throwing in a bit of culinary humor)
About listening and throwing away the paddle. We look at times in our life when we actually forget to (or cannot) listen. Sadly we miss so much during those phases.
Then we let go as much as we think we can and we see and hear more. The trick, I think, is to recognize that there is always another paddle buried among the rubble on the canoe floor. A consistent search during a lifetime to find those hidden oars will also allow for higher and higher qualities of listening and therefore we are enraptured with what we discover.
An important life lesson.
BTW. Because of you I have my first prose poem published in Write Under the Moon. You inspire me to that and more, my friend. ( I think of all those times when I wasn’t in a writing mood. I would see your prompt in Scrittura and next thing I know I have written a poem. Thank you for all that. It continues now for me even though you have changed your role at Scrittura)
