Re the part I highlighted above. I read another essay in the last year that explained a similar point in terms of being labeled as “ one of those women”. I understood it perfectly in terms of the few successful women I observed in my previous industry. I never understood why they supported all the misogyny directed and the other(few) women in the industry.

Being accepted by the boys club meant that if ever one of them sympathized with the pathetic treatment the industry offered women in general, that would label them as “one of those women”. An outcast.

Trouble is, they never truly saw that the boys in that club excluded them anyways…wrong anatomy…
