Linda Caroll and of courseš Denise Garratt
There is so much here. Things that need to stay in front of our faces as we, the whole world, struggle to navigate our future. Thank you, Linda for this excellent piece. Below from your article is my FaceFrontList.
1. After Viktor Frankl survived Auschwitz, he wrote about his experiences.
2. Whether a person was kind or cruel wasnāt determined by which āsideā they were on. It was determined by who they were. As people.
3. We use irrelevant things, like race, creed, color, religion, gender, political affiliation and all sorts of things that donāt really mean anything. Not in the long run. Not in any way that really matters.
4. There are only two types of people, he said.
5. Those who have the desire and capacity to do evil.
And those who do not.
6. Linda C. on today: Donald Trump is a polarizing man. No question. But he didnāt turn anyone into anything they werenāt to begin with. He just shone a magnifying glass on it. Made it okay for everyone to show who they really were all along. Donald Trump gave us a box of darkness. Are we brave enough to look inside?
Linda, I plan to keep your article and my list at my fingertips. I strongly agree with Denise Shelton recommendation in her comments to your Substack: for now and the future, one way out of this mess is to focus on completing random acts of kindness. I will add: letās keep our own private list of these actions as a means to motivate ourselves to keep doing more and more.
