I also find myself thinking that in the 1990s, about many topics, we were asleep at the wheel. That doesn't exclde behavior or make it ok. Pointing it out is sufficient for my purposes in this note.

I had a conversation the other day about something horrible, abusive and misogynistic that happened to a young woman in the 1990's.

She kept it quiet at the time believing she would receive no support. She was correct. That same behavior today would be called out in a second with the tempation(without thinking) to say why didn't you do something then?
