I am so sorry that you lost Sophie. I know your pain. We do heal. But it takes awhile.

The best thing is that when the “awhile” arrives…the love we felt for them and the love they gave us never, ever fades.

Towards the end we always gave Mickie a vanilla oreo cookie for a sometimes treat. It didn’t matter at that point that they were not good for her. She gobbled them up like a thristy dog inhaling water. The last day she was with us, she turned her head away and would not take the cookie….

Having a hard time remembering this. But its ok. The love from her triumphs.
