Hi Erica and thank you so much for such a well written article. I love your style, causing me to experience so many emotions as I moved through your sections. Including some Ha Has.

I am curious. There is so much being said, not just by you, but in many places, about trolls and hate and threats on Twitter. Do you think from your experience that it’s humanly possible to actually not read or ignore those malicious tweets?

I know you would have to see a few words to know it was a doozie of a hate message. But could a person, who finds themselves in a position like yours, create a system to move above the ugliness?

Also, just like you say that one doesn’t “do” something special to plan for a tweet to go viral; hate can rear its ugly head in everyday “ little” Twitter responses. Twitter screens aside, what else do you think one could do to rise above the…lowest of the low?

I have been off Twitter for awhile, but I miss it and the terrific people I “ met”. I’d love your thoughts on how “ regular people” could do things themselves to enhance the whole experience. I don’t want to see something as great as Twitter ultimately get fully mired in the gutter.

Or is there no solution except read it all( except when you take breaks, like you did), respond only when you wish, and force your skin grow 50 extra layers….there’s a pill for that, right? :)
