Hi Cheryl
I cannot tell you how much you made me smile with your comments.
I read your reply just after I prepared a rushed dinner. Like you, just thrown together. Sheet pan skin on chicken thighs, quartered Yukon golds, carrots cut in half, whole Brussels sprouts (cute purple ones I accidentally found), quartered red onion, a few strips of bacon cut in quarters, salt, pepper, hot paprika. Baked at 425 for 65 minutes.
So basically the same yummy thing you made. How about that! Add to that the previous night when I had some leftover roasted veggies in the fridge. I was heating them up then mixing with some greens to make a warm salad. I was thinking of putting garlic butter on rye bread, cutting the bread in big squares and giving it a toast under the broiler. In the end I didn’t do the bread thing because the veggies were already laced in garlic. ( Dang. Just thought of this now. Shoulda done the bread thing with plain butter. Next time…)
So girl. How did we end up making such similar stuff. Freaky deaky!
Question for you: Does your supermarket, in the dairy section carry pre-made garlic butter? Mine does. I have been using it for awhile now. It’s not as good as crushing ones own garlic clove and mashing it in butter ( way to much work, that one). But I have found, since I too used garlic powder, that I like the store bought pre-made garlic butter better.
Summary. Cooking is definitely a fun hobby for me. I call myself a play-chef because I certainly wouldn’t want to turn my amusement into a profession.🙀😄
Have a super day today, Cheryl.
