In a clear and engaging way you communicate details about Juneteenth that many of us still do not know. And absolutely we DO want to know. We are well past the expiration date for our lack of sufficient knowledge on slavery.

As I read your essay, I was mentally wringing my hands reflecting on the horrible and disgusting evil that dwells inside some(too many) human beings. Just because it has been there for so long is no reason that it should continue and every reason that it needs to stop. Today and going forward.

The work ahead for us is overwhelming. Yet we CAN and MUST do it.
