Great feedback here. I especially like Amy Marley mention about claps as a way to send good energy. Maybe from a time point of view, the max permitted by Medium should be 10 rather than 50.

Plus I agree about the value from comments. I wish Medium built in some reward when a writer takes the time to write a detailed comment. Read time counts but not comment time. The current system does not encourage readers to spend much time commenting.

The solution, I guess, is to make that longer and detailed comment a separate post. I am not convinced that is the best solution either. A profile page mixed up with comment/posts among regular posts is not attractive.
