Good Morning Michelle Ann:

I am probably going to sound like a total mushball when I say this, but reading your excellent article just now literally brought tears to my eyes. Thank you SO much for writing it.

Here is why my emotional response: Last night, late, I had it. For about two weeks or a bit less, my partner and I practiced rigid, rigid Social distancing. For all the reasons recommended by the scientific experts.

Yet all week in social media and in phone calls we heard TONS of examples and lots of people poo-pooing social distancing and self quarantine. Also making light or fun of covid-19.

I couldn’t take it anymore, it was so upsetting given what is obviously going on in the world.

So I wrote my own article. Then I had second thoughts. Should I publish it? Should I submit it to a pub? I am fairly new as a writer on Medium (was a reader only for about a year) should I publish such a strong opiniuon piece at this juncture?

All these questions. So I slept on it.

Then this morning BEFORE I saw your article I was still hesitant and then I remembered. I was just accepted as a writer for Candour. That’s where I will send it!

I have not done so yet because I need a bit more editing. But you, Michelle, have given me what I need to be resolved to publish it. Thank you again.

Two questions for you: 1. I will be thrilled to mention you and your article in my essay, the more people reading about the folks denying the crisis, the better. Is this ok and would you like me to refer to you and this article?

2. Of the publications I am listed to date to submit my writing, Candour looks like the best fit. I hope they won’t be reluctant to post two articles on the same day about the same topic? What do you think? My article is different than yours but still is about the people out there not doing their part as humans supporting humans.

My apologies for such a long comment!! I just had to tell you about all this.
