Good morning , Kim. Thanks for this piece. I found it in my feed today. I think you do a great job expressing the frustrations of many writers on various social media platforms, in addition to this one.

It is so unfortunate that broadcasting a followers number gets as much respect as it does, because you are right, the moment you drill down, most of those people clicked follow for no reason at all except to grow their also meaningless number.

Yet that number actually gets respect in our superficial marketplace.( not at all liking what that says about humanity etc)

Have you noticed especially lately you get these follows from random people ( of course they haven’t read you) and you look at their profile and yup, they follow like 10,000 people and have 146 followers themselves? Like you, I do not follow those folks back.

Thanks for reminding me btw( highlighted above) I find I do so much reading and responding from my feed and comments/claps to my posts that I forget your excellent suggestion.

I have tried to follw or follow back only those where there is mutual reading/ commenting/ etc engagement. I succeed at this, I think, about 95% of the time.

When I saw your article this morning I checked and saw that I am following you. Honestly, if we interacted it was awhile ago because I did not recognize your name. Or maybe you were THAT 5% of mine above.

I did check and didn’t see my name in the list of those you follow. Hope you didn’t boot me out?🙄

Anyways, I am heading out shortly but over the day and into tomorrow ( depending how sidetracked I get doing Saturday errand stuff !) I want to read some more from you.
