Good Monday morning Vivien Grace

Thank you for the follow and right back atcha.

Four quick things came to mind from your response above:

  1. How difficult it is to come up with the right words in the moment. I give myself a C- at best. 🙁 Usually I am so shocked to be treated in such a condescending or insulting passive aggressive manner, that I need awhile to process the “slap” and then the prime opportunity passes. We are busy living our lives as equal and competent people. We do not (for example) stand in a coffee line expecting this stranger to be in our face with some sort of a put down.
  2. The more we help and inspire other women the better. Every conversation, every article directed at this topic will help.
  3. Totally agree. No more excuses for misogyny. Yes, there were times in the past where the role of women was so limited that patronizing and misogyny were basically de rigueur. Those times, sadly, ruled most of history. But not now.
  4. Humor, as you say, is necessary. It does not reduce the seriousness of the issue. We need humor to lighten our load. Because there is still so much to do. We can choose to do everything we can to fix this burden with hunched posture and a long face. Or. We can stand straight and strong (because we absolutely ARE strong) and slay the monster with a victorious grin. I think most of us pick the latter.
