Totally agree with you though about lessons learned from speaking out loud and engaging in public discussions with others.
So Gillian. Something of interest. A friend of mine living now in Toronto but most of her life in NYC was telling me about this jerk in Toronto. Owner of a BBQ restaurant that is endangering lives by ignoring government shutdown rules related to Covid. He did some rotten stuff in the spring too but the latest in the last week is beyond. Way beyond.
He set up a go fund me page and raised multiples of tens of thousands of dollars in less than a week to, supposedly, cover his legal fees fighting for his right to stay open and the hell with anyone getting sick because of it. ( depending on which report is correct, I think he has raised close to 300k but needs confirming)
This pains me as I consider all the people needing food banks, all the homeless people and the approaching cold of winter while this guy gets money donated to him in support of his selfishness. Huffpost also covered this from a White privilege point of view as well. Another publication listed ten local charities that could use the donations instead of this guy breaking a law imposed to protect the public.
