This piece of yours is excellent and the issue is a huge problem. You hit the nail on the head. Making money trumps* saving women’s ( and girl’s) self esteem and lives. It is a pandemic in our culture in addition to Covid.

We cannot stop trying to fix it and we must continue to discuss the issue in any and all ways. Plus women as a group also have to stop feeding the beast. If businesses like Instagram are convinced ( by clicks and reads) that women want this, then they feel totally justified in proceeding.

Let me say one more thing. I am not blaming women. We have been fed this “ you should be like this” bullshit since, what, the world began. That is enough conditioning and learning to dominate anyone. I am merely saying: we keep the fight going to change the message AND we stop buying the product.

*I need a new word obviously, given the association of that verb with the orange guy. Ugh.
