Excellent piece as always, James. So timely too. Lately, we both discuss over morning coffee( and at other times) the number of people we hear pushing solid and scientific information away.
Not reading, asking questions, no curiosity.
“I don’t want to know, It’s too depressing, What I read on Facebook is enough, I don’t want to hear it, It’s too much work, etc, etc.” It almost sounds as though many view thinking in general, much less critical thinking, as something to proudly ignore.
I worry that humanity in general, is getting much worse. Aside from the lack of direct and indirect critical thinking teaching, there is an accepted laziness.
None of this good. Depressing actually.
