There is this thing in our society that often labels women hurt through violence or some other form of gender abuse as "those girls" or "those women" because of course, "ladies" or "women we know" do not have things like this happen to them. Noting my satire in this above sentence...

Plus that exact sort of thinking shames some women so they do not go forward and report the abuse.
