Awwww. Thank you James Knight. My face lights up when I see you in my feed, my friend. Your caring for the world and the people in it. Your amazing views on teaching and mentoring students. And…your ability to make me laugh and think of cool music. No wonder it feels so good to have you read my writing and send me comments.
Little story: So this morning my honey and I went out for an early morning bike ride in the burbs(best way to avoid crowds and we have gaitor masks around our necks to pull up if we happen upon a gaggle of peeps…we don’t though) Anyhoo, for some reason I couldn’t get Pink Floyd outa my head as I was cruising along.
Specifically The Wall CD and the song: Another Brick in the Wall Part 2…the “we don’t need no education” riff. No idea why that hit me. Clearly its the beat and melody since I only know a few of the words!! But I was riding along belting it out…my singing, you need to know, leaves much to be desired. Not sure Roger W. would have like the way I butchered his song :-)
Were you/ are you a Pink Floyd fan?
P.S. Like many of us, I have been in a major funk about the mess going on around us. Virus and much needed protesting all at once. Glad you like my two descriptions above for the lame masterminds. I have another poem ready to post shortly. I am hoping writing about this and doing some other proactive support things will help lift the dark cloud over my head. Then again, I do know it will take much more than that… You doing ok?
